Introduction
The sun bestows upon us a warm and blissful energy. The design vision aims to reinterpret the sun, creating an illusion of closeness to its brilliance. Situated on the ice surface of the Nestaweya River, this pavilion seeks to foster interaction between visitors and nature. The structure is composed of a framework based on three tangent circles and one intersecting circle, forming the sky, while a circular gate embodies the sun. The main façade is clad in mirror-like metal, designed to capture and reflect the sky, giving the impression that visitors are walking on air as they ascend the staggered steps. At the heart of the pavilion, a sun-shaped door made of colored glass serves as the focal point. Step by step, visitors traverse this skyward path until they reach—and even touch—the sun. This experience underscores the importance of harmonious coexistence with the environment and deepens the bond between humanity and the natural world. The exterior is finished with white wood, allowing the pavilion to blend seamlessly into the snowy landscape. Frosted glass panels along the sides create a sense of partial transparency, balancing openness with enclosure. Upon entering through the sun gate, visitors are greeted by an interior lined with warm-toned wood, offering a cozy refuge from the harsh outdoor winds. Inside, they can rest and warm themselves, experiencing a tangible contrast between the cold external environment and the inviting interior. This material distinction allows the pavilion to harmonize with its winter surroundings while providing a comforting, heated sanctuary.
